UW HSIP- Rejected Varicella History

1 min. readlast update: 10.06.2026

You have submitted a record indicating you have history of disease to Varicella (Chickenpox); HSIP does not accept history of disease for the Varicella requirement. You need to get a Varicella IgG titer blood draw to prove immunity. Please submit the full lab report in Med+Proctor for approval.

If your titer comes back negative, then you need to proceed with the 2-dose Varicella vaccine series. Please submit documentation of the first dose once you have completed it. The tag UW HSIP- Subsequent Varicella Dose #2 tag will be created for your second Varicella dose. The second dose should be received 1 month after the first (no sooner than 28 days between doses).

NOTE:  The dose must be at least 28 days after a prior live vaccine (MMR/Varicella).  Live vaccines may interfere with TB screening results.  TB screening should be completed prior to live vaccines or at least 28 days after a live vaccine.  Same day live vaccine administration and IGRA TB screening is ok.
