UW HSIP- Subsequent HepB Non-Responder

1 min. readlast update: 06.16.2025

You have submitted documentation of two Hepatitis B vaccine series followed by a non-reactive HepB Surface Antibody Titer. This indicates that you do not have immunity to Hepatitis B and may be a non-responder.

You now need to complete a Hepatitis B Surface Antigen Titer to verify you do not have a past or present Hepatitis B infection. Depending on the test results, your provider will need to complete ONE of the following:

·        NEGATIVE Antigen titer – This would indicate you are a non-responder to the Hepatitis B vaccine.

o   We will need your provider to provide counseling to you regarding your susceptibility risk and for them to complete the HSIP Hepatitis B Vaccine Non-Responder: Counseling Letter for Providers form

·        POSITIVE Antigen Titer – This would indicate a possible past or present Hepatitis B infection.

o   We will need your provider to provide counseling, discuss your antigen results with you, and complete the HSIP Chronic Hepatitis B Vaccine (HBV) Infection: Counseling Letter for Providers form
